Fire update
Double
Snag Fire –
The fire did not increase in size yesterday due to a lot “solid work put in”
said Incident Commander Trainee Tim Wilson of the Type 4 team now managing the
fire, containment increased to 35% on the fire.
Yesterday’s
planned firing operation on the east side was successful, firefighters are
beginning to mop up inside the fire edge. Along the north side, crews have
filled in the areas between where the fire had backed up to the line in a
“connect the dots” firing operation said Wilson.
A
total of 69 personnel comprised of two hand crews, one falling module, two
engines, five masticators and one dozer plus operators are assigned to the fire
today.
Prep
work will continue today along Forest Road 52.
Weather: Mostly sunny conditions are expected with increasing
clouds in the evening. Temperatures 79-87°, Humidity 20-28%, Winds light from the northwest. Cooler temperatures and light winds over the
past two days continue to moderate fire activity.
