Rail Fire Update - Aug. 6, 7:30 pm
Firefighters had a very good day on the Rail Fire today. As expected, an early inversion kept the fire capped and relatively calm during the morning. Just as the air began to clear and warm and fire activity increase, a thunderstorm over the fire cooled it again and helped keep the activity level low. The fire had minimal growth today and resources in all areas made good progress. An additional 3 Type 1 Hotshot crews arrived today.
