Current Situation:   

The Bologna Fire is nearing completion with 96% containment. Fire crews are still focusing on suppression repair and prepared to assist the local district with Initial Attack if needed. Fire operations are continuing to patrol and monitor control lines for any remaining hot spots. 

The Umatilla National Forest lifted the Bologna Fire area closure today, but fire restrictions are still in PHASE C. 

Emergency notifications and evacuation updates are coordinated through local Emergency Management. Residents near the fire area are encouraged to stay informed through official fire information.  

Weather and Fire Behavior: Warm, dry conditions accompanied by diurnally driven winds are forecast Sunday and Monday. Elevated fire weather will persist over the next 24 hours as critical conditions develop across the area. Relative humidity levels are expected to drop into the mid-teens to low twenty percent range, paired with breezy northwest winds. These hot, dry, and windy conditions will keep fuels highly receptive to ignition, creating elevated fire danger throughout the day and into the evening. Safety: Officials want to remind everyone that the current fire danger rating is at HIGH for Umatilla National Forest and Public Use Restrictions Phase C are in effect on the forest.
