Current Situation:
The Bologna Fire is nearing completion. Firefighters are now focused on rehabilitation and suppression repair as management scales down operations. Suppression repair is almost finished in the east and ongoing in the north and west, where crews are restoring firelines, installing erosion controls, and addressing environmental impacts while keeping main access open. Firefighters continue to extinguish hot spots, address hazard trees, and check repair work. Due to critical fire weather, resources for initial attack have increased to support local forest efforts.
Incident teams are working with partners to determine when closures can be lifted. The public is advised to respect all closures until official updates are provided.
Emergency notifications and evacuation updates are coordinated through local Emergency Management. Residents near the fire area are encouraged to stay informed through official fire information.
Weather and Fire Behavior: A RED FLAG WARNING is in effect from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM Saturday due to critical fire weather conditions. Extremely dry air will drop daytime relative humidity into the mid-teens. Breezy to locally windy conditions will persist late into the evening, with peak wind gusts expected around sunset. These factors create elevated fire danger across the area, making fine fuels highly susceptible to ignition and rapid spread. For the latest information regarding smoke and air quality see https://fire.airnow.gov/.
Evacuations and Closures: Refer to your local county Sheriff’s office for current evacuations information:

Safety: Officials want to remind everyone that the current fire danger rating is at HIGH for Umatilla National Forest and Public Use Restrictions Phase C are in effect on the forest. Please remember unauthorized drone flights can shut down aerial firefighting operations, making fires grow larger, threatening more lives, property, and critical habitats. If You Fly, We Can’t!
