lightning across Blue Mountains’ footprint yesterday afternoon and through
the night. Storm brought in multiple fires, which are still being reported on
this morning.
Cornet Fire OR-BKE ODF- 000843 ICT3. 19 miles S of Baker City, OR. Start 8/10. Full Suppression. Grass. Cause: Lightning. 450 acres.
Phillips Creek
OR-UMF-000749. IMT2. OR Team 2 (Fillis). 7 miles NW of Elgin, OR. Start 8/1.
Full Suppression. Timber. Cause: Unknown. 2,601 acres. (+167). 70%
containment. Active fire behavior with group torching. Private land,
livestock and fish habitat threatened. Intermittent Hwy 204 closures. Area
and trail closures in effect. Tentative transition to local unit 8/12 at 0600
hrs
