The Fanny Fire received
aggressive initial attack yesterday from two hand crews and four fire engines.
Retardant from a "very large air tanker" also helped to slow the
fire.
Efforts to achieve full suppression continue
today. Ground crews are working to get a line around the fire. They are also
seeking & suppressing any small fire spots ahead of the cold front and
winds predicted later today. The fire is currently 3-5 acres and located just
to the south (within ¼ mile) of the Mt. Fanny
communication facilities.
The road to Moss Springs
campground / trail head is still open, but drivers should be cautious given
elevated traffic related to the Fanny Fire. Please drive slowly and yield to
firefighters.
