Key Messages
Incident Management Team Transition: Northwest Incident Management Team 8 will be turning the Paradise Fire over to the local forest at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. Team 8 will be turning the Hagen Fire over to Northwest Incident Management Team 7 on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at 7:00 am. It’s been Northwest Team 8’s pleasure serving the local communities and the firefighters on both the Paradise and Hagen Fires.
Wet Weekend Weather: The weekend storms brought significant rain that continued until early morning hours of Monday, September 14, 2026. The Paradise Fire received 1.62 inches of rain and the Hagen Fire received 1.82 inches. While rain may seem to be a helpful element on a wildfire, the effects can hamper the repair efforts that firefighters are currently engaged on.
Inclement Weather and Firefighter Safety: Rain can create slick conditions for crews repairing fire line and fences cut during firefighting activities. Wet ground can loosen tree roots and prompt rolling debris on slopes. Heavy equipment compacts wet soil too much to complete repair work like flattening bulldozer berms, leading to inefficient erosion mitigation efforts. Field managers will assess their assigned portions of fire line to identify areas where resources can safely and effectively continue this work. As the ground begins to dry out in the coming days, full repair and rehab operations across both fire areas will continue.

Hagen Fire
Roads are very wet and slick. Repair and rehab opportunities have been very limited. Crews are operating under an Inclement Weather Plan and only engaging in areas where it’s safe to do so. Warming weather this week will increase opportunities for more direct action on the fire.

Weather and Fire behavior
Incoming system will bring in a warming and drying trend. Temperatures today will be 56 to 61 degrees with humidity at 45-55 percent. Southeast winds will be 5-7 mph early switching to northwest winds at 6-8 mph, gusting to near 11 mph around 11:00 am this morning.
