Key Messages

• Suppression Repair- Fire crews and equipment operators are working closely with local agency Resource Advisors to repair areas impacted during suppression, including dozer lines, handlines, staging areas, and access routes. This work focuses on stabilizing soil, restoring drainage, removing hazard trees, and mitigating impacts to vegetation and waterways.
• Flights Continue. UAS (drones) are providing valuable information in real time to firefighters on the ground locating heat sources that need to be addressed. Aviation resources continue to support firefighting efforts with timely water deliveries.
• Evacuation level changes.  Continued progress on the Hagen Fire is allowing emergency officials to further reduce or lift evacuation levels in portions of Umatilla County, Union County and the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation (CTUIR).
• After recent precipitation — Rain and cooler weather have moderated fire behavior and improved conditions across the forest. Visitors should remain vigilant, stay aware of current fire restrictions, and follow all closure orders for their safety and the safety of firefighters. A warming trend early next week may increase fire activity.

CURRENT CONDITIONS AND Planned activities

Hagen Fire

Crews will be focused on direct containment as personnel are simultaneously patrolling and stabilizing the fire's outer boundary. Throughout the impacted area, teams are also busy retrieving equipment and fixing damaged landscapes. Consequently, today's primary objectives focus heavily on mopping up hot spots and conducting essential rehabilitation work.

Paradise Fire

Equipment backhaul continues as crews remove supplies no longer needed around the fire area. Suppression repair and rehabilitation remain concentrated in the Mill Creek watershed, where firefighters are restoring impacted ground and improving access. Alongside this work, crews continue mop‑up and hotspot patrol in areas where heat remains, while maintaining a strong focus on defending nearby homes and structures.

Weather and Fire behavior

Partly cloudy to mostly cloudy. A 60% chance of rain with a 25% chance of thunderstorms.  Continued low fire potential under the persistent influence of high RH, high cloud cover and possible light rain.
